Rats live in your attic, crawl space and garage. Go to your local hardware store and purchase rat sized snap traps and rat sized glue boards. Using the right sized ladder, pop your head in the attic and put out several traps around the door in arms length. For the first few days, just put some peanut butter on the traps and do not set the traps. Let the rats get use to the traps. Rats are very cautious. After a few days set the traps and put out largest size glue traps possible. The point is to wear the rodent out and have the rodent hit into several traps and start getting beaten up. In the garage set rat traps around the perimeter and hot water heater. The rats are looking for warmth. Always make sure to keep the rat traps away from children. Open your crawl space door under the house and set rat snap traps and glue boards around the door in arms length for easy removal. Check every few days.
